AnyPS5 Guides
Set up AnyPS5 on Windows
Choose Windows libraries, relink explicitly for Windows, and check DLL failures.
Relink for the correct platform
Use the Windows relinker and Windows-native library archive, or build both from the same source tree. The --windows flag selects PE output; naming the output app.exe does not select Windows by itself. Place the input’s bundled modules in sce_module/ or sce_modules/ beside the input ELF, or provide their parent with --sce-module-path.
.\relinker-v0.1.1.exe --windows .\source\input.elf .\runtime\app.exe
cd .\runtime
.\app.exeRead the error before replacing files
Error 193 usually indicates the wrong binary format: do not put original PS5 libraries in libs/. Error 126 can mean a missing dependent DLL, not only a missing named PRX. Custom builds need matching libgcc_s_seh-1.dll, libstdc++-6.dll and libwinpthread-1.dll in libs/. The release archives include their matching runtime dependencies.
Run from a terminal and preserve the earliest error. For direct-memory allocation failures, check total system commit and page-file configuration before blaming the GPU. Do not copy unrelated DLLs from download sites or change the global PATH to hide a dependency mismatch.
Verify the folder and first launch
After conversion, compare the output against the runtime layout in the getting-started guide. Do not move only app.exe and leave its generated game modules behind. Resources must remain under app0/ in the layout expected by the game, while AnyPS5 host libraries belong under libs/. Changing the current working directory can make relative resources disappear even when the executable itself starts. Quote paths containing spaces when running commands in your shell.
If a window opens but input does not respond, test a simple keyboard action and one controller separately before blaming rendering. A Windows HID discovery hang is tracked in issue #1042; its proposed DirectInput change is still a separate PR, not a reason to change every installation. Capture the terminal output and peripheral list. For a black screen, retain any shader or presentation error and the exact build rather than labelling it a generic DLL problem.
